Cheers to the new rPET bottle!
Our new bottle brings some real advantages: more capacity, less weight, and easier returns. We've carefully considered the change with you – here are the key reasons why:
More inside, same price: Our rPET bottles now contain 400 ml instead of 330 ml – that’s 21% more kombucha at the same price.
One-way deposit system: You can return our rPET bottles anywhere deposit bottles are accepted. This makes it easy, convenient, and efficient.
Lightweight & efficient: The new bottle is 90% lighter than glass. This reduces CO₂ emissions during transport and logistics – a win-win for you and the environment.

Why we are switching to rPET:
We didn't make this decision lightly. We discussed, researched, and, above all, asked you. In our extensive customer survey, you made it clear that returning glass bottles was often a hassle. With the new rPET bottle, we're changing that: It carries a one-way deposit and can be returned anywhere deposit bottles are accepted—simple, flexible, and suitable for everyday use.
rPET stands for 100% recycled PET—plastic that has already been in circulation. Our bottles are lighter, shatter-resistant, space-saving, and fully recyclable—an important step toward a circular economy.
We've also taken the issue of microplastics seriously. Studies show that reusable glass bottles often contain more microplastics than disposable rPET bottles – due to abrasion during cleaning and refilling. Our bottles are used only once and then recycled – this can reduce microplastics.
We know this is a big change. But we're convinced it's the right thing to do—for you, for us, and for the greater good.

Less microplastics in our rPET bottle than in glass
We also initially thought that glass bottles were the safer choice . But a test by Öko-Test (July 2021) convinced us otherwise.
"Our hypothesis: The water in the PET bottles will be more contaminated. […] But our study didn't really care about our hypothesis."
In a study of ten mineral water bottles (five PET and five glass) , the water from the glass bottles was on average more contaminated with microplastics.
“The most heavily contaminated glass bottle contained 302 particles.” and “in a direct comparison by one manufacturer: 302 particles in glass – 38 in PET.”
One possible reason: It is not the material itself, but processes such as cleaning, filling or the seals in the lid that contribute to the pollution.
“The more often you open and close a bottle, the more microplastics are created.”
Our conclusion: rPET disposable bottles perform better when it comes to microplastics than many people think – often even better than glass.
At the same time, unfortunately, it's almost impossible to do without microplastics these days. Plastic is ubiquitous in food production – often invisibly, for example in hoses or seals.
Our bottles are lightweight, practical, 100% recyclable – and because they are used once, the microplastic content is negligible.

New bottle, same kombucha
Most importantly, our kombucha remains just as high-quality and natural as you know it. We make no compromises. Every bottle still contains real raw kombucha—unpasteurized, full of active cultures, and with exactly the premium taste you're used to.
